Is Anakin Skywalker a Positive Role Model?

True, he was a petulant, minor-murdering, republic-betraying monster, but he really loved his mamma.

Game Developer Nellie Tayloe Ros Mills is not a man to sit idly by as our early days are corrupt by poor role models, oh no. When he noticed that the Early Learning Focus, a UK outlet that deals in delightful acquisition toys for impressionable kiddywinks, was selling toys based on Anakin Skywalker he knew he had to speak out.

"Now, I didn't really judgement," blogged Mills. "I merely thought it amusing that the murderer of 'Younglings' would be thought of as a positive character in different section of the franchise, so, on a notion, I dispatched them an email."

"Personally, I could not glucinium more shocked. I cerebration the First Learning Centre was a place for positive reinforcement of positive actions for children, but as yet, here IT was, actively promoting indefinite of the near ugly characters in the Major Wars universe. Anakin Skywalker," he wrote; without doubt bristling with righteous fury.

He went on to list several of the reference's transgressions.

• Choked his wife using the power of the Pull along, nearly killing her and undeniably an act upon which eventually light-emitting diode to her death.
• Unsuccessful killing of Jedi Knight and Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

And, last of all, and the most weighty

• The butchery of an entire train of inexperienced Jedi Children.

Now, I ask you, how can you sell such toys, promoting so much individuals, in your establishment?

I'd also like to add together that Anakin whined and cried throughout the entirety of Revenge of the Sith, scope a terrible example for children everywhere.

In defence of the Early Learning center, a client living manager emailed Robert Mills with an equally nerdy (and hilarious) response:

It's outside that children of that age have seen any of the Star Wars films, however if they have I beg to put up the following counterpoints to 'the sins of Anakin'

• Anakin loved his mother a slew and always treated her with respect

I would as wel argue that if a child has seen entirely the films they'll see Anakin as a hero who went evil merely ultimately paid the supreme sacrifice to atone for his sins.

There may be better role models out there for a child, but for the period our toys are aimed at (the Clone Wars), Anakin cadaver very much 'hero material' and is a popular and welcome addition to our range.

He failed to mention that, as Darth Vader, Anakin is surely a handicapable theatrical role model.
